What do players learn?
Each week your child will take part in skill based activities that will help them develop fundamental movement skills, as well as important social skills like team work. We aim to teach the correct technique through drills, starting with basic skills and advancing as players develop. We teach players about effective passing techniques, safe landing and pivoting (to reduce stepping and mitigate risk of injury), shooting technique, court positions and game strategy, and how to build their fitness.

Who coaches NetSetGo?
The program is lead by an adult coach, who has foundation and development accreditation, WWCC and abides by our Child Safety Code of Conduct and Netball Victoria Coach Code of Conduct. Our current lead coach has over 7 years coaching experience and is currently a rep netball coach for U13s and lead coach for U15s.
The lead coach is assisted by three junior coaches who are experienced players and have previous NetSetGo assistant coaching experience.

What do players wear?
Each player is encouraged to wear their Woolworths NetSetGO training training top, along with black shorts. Correct footwear is important to prevent injury. Runners should be supportive and laces tied tightly. School shoes and converse style sand shoes are not permitted.

What about the weather?
The coach will decide if to proceed with the program on days with extreme weather. Netball is a winter sports, so cold and rain are part of playing a winter sport. The program will be cancelled when the weather is deemed unsafe or extreme heat.

NetSetGO coaches
NetSetGO is an opportunity for parent-coaches, parents returning to sport, and young coaches, to experience running the program, and leading off and on court activities.

If you are a mum or dad, who coaches sport, or has taken time off from sport, and you want to become involved, NetSetGO is a great way to have a bit of fun, meet new parents and widen your netball/sport contacts.
NetSetGO is the leading grassroots netball program, designed for children aged 5-10 to experience the joy of netball in a fun, safe, and welcoming community. Our mission is to develop confident, and active kids who will grow a lifelong love of team sport, all while building essential skills.

Woolworths NetSetGo has three aged based tiers for children aged between 5 10 years of age — Net, Set, and Go — designed to help kids smoothly transition into junior netball. From catching and passing to learning how to be part of a team, each tier focuses on building confidence and skills at a pace that’s right for them.
We run our program at Brighton Primary School and Gardenvale Primary School.
